GAMSAT scores are valid for two years. For example, results from GAMSAT 2009 will be valid for application to the Medicine and Veterinary Medicine Graduate- Entry Programmes in 2009 or 2010, but not in 2011.

There is no restriction on the number of times a candidate may sit GAMSAT.

If you have two valid GAMSAT scores (e.g. either from a previous sitting of GAMSAT Ireland, or from a sitting of GAMSAT UK or GAMSAT Australia), you may use whichever you prefer to apply for admission in 2009.  You must register with the CAO in the usual manner and provide your previous scores to them when submitting your application.

GAMSAT is a professionally designed and marked selection test developed by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) for medical schools offering graduate-entry programmes open to graduates of any discipline. 

You will need to sit GAMSAT Ireland if you intend to apply for 2009 entry into one of the following programmes:

• Graduate Veterinary Medicine  Programme at University College Dublin (UCD)
• Graduate Entry Medicine at University College Dublin (UCD)
• Graduate Entry Medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI)
• Graduate Entry Medicine at University College Cork (UCC)
• Graduate Entry Medicine at the University of Limerick

In the event of other programmes being approved for graduate-entry to medicine in 2009, these will also require GAMSAT Ireland. Candidates should constantly monitor this website and the website of the Central Applications Office (CAO) for any announcements.
